The day will also play host to the annual CHARITY WALK by St George DCC President, Kevin Greene. See below for information from Kevin on the walk.
Again this year Frances and I will be leading a Charity Walk on behalf of St George District Cricket Club, with all funds going to the St George Sutherland Medical Research Foundation (SSMRF). This is the 6th year that SSMRF has been our charity partner. This local charity is now considered one of the leading medical research centres in Australia and has been credited with a number of international breakthroughs. Our Club is proud to be associated with and support their important, indeed vital work.
As well as raising funds the Walk also highlights to our young players and the community that while we are a sporting organisation we also recognise our community responsibility. While our focus as a Club is on developing our young players' cricket skills we also have a role in setting a good example in developing them as community members.
This year's Walk is on next Sunday 27 October starting from Hurstville Oval as our 1st grade team commence the first game of their T20 double header against Easts. We'll walk 20 kms through Hurstville, Allawah, Carlton, Sth Hurstville, Oatley, Mortdale, Peakhurst, Riverwood and Penshurst before returning to Hurstville Oval in time for the Club's Sponsors/Members/Past Players function at 2.00pm. This coincides with 1st grade taking on UNSW in the 2nd half of the T20 double header.

Thursday 21st November - Annual Fundraising Dinner - Save the date for the big night. Funny man and former Test Cricket Greg Ritchie will be our main guest. Full Details to be released soon.
