Rodney Krause has been elected as Life Member No.58 at the recent St George DCC AGM.
His nomination was presented by life member Ken Rummans (Pictured with.Rod).
Rod Krause started his cricket life with Kingsgrove United in the St George Junior Competition and like many St George legends before him went on to become scoreboard attendant taking over from another life member, Graeme Rummans. Rodney also commenced playing Green Shield for St George before moving into the Grade ranks in the mid 90’s.
In this time he has played for 20 consecutive seasons between 2nd to 5th Grade as well as serving as 3rd Grade captain for a few season. Rodney sits inside the top 25 allrounders for the club with 5534 runs and 211 wickets and has also served time on many occasions as wicket keeper outlining his allround abilities. Not surprisingly he is a gifted and reliable slips fielder. He has also been an integral part of two premierships, 2005-06 in 3rd Grade and 2012-13 in 4th Grade.
In his years Rodney has always been a passionate clubman serving a stint on the Management Committee but more importantly leading from the front on and off the field particularly when it comes to celebrating the club successes.
From all of us at St George, congratulations and thank you to Rodney for your loyal service to our club. Thank you also to his wife Clare for allowing him to keep playing on, even after the birth of their 3rd child.
