Date of Event : Mon Nov 12, 2018 3:19PM

ROUND 3 WRAP Vs Bankstown

A tough round against a very tough opponent in Bankstown District Cricket Club. 1s suffered the most minimal of losses at Hurstville while 2s and 3s were outplayed by clinical performances from our cross-town rivals. However, our 4s and 5s stood out, with both sides maintaining their 100% records. 4th Grade now sitting 1st after young gun Ethan Jamieson hit 72 in his debut innings for the Saints, while 5s sit 2nd after yet another comprehensive wins. Encouraging signs for our lower grades, and a lot to work on moving forward.

ROUND 4 WRAP Vs Penrith

It was a gallant effort from 1s after a disastrous day 1 against Penrith Cricket Club, with Matthew Hopkins restoring some pride in scoring his 3rd hundred for the club.

2nd grade enjoyed their first win for the season and what a win it was, passing the runs 8 down in the dying minute's thanks to Jonathon Craig-Dobson and his MS Dhoni impersonation playing the finisher role, ending 45 not out.

3rd Grade got back on track after a strong bowling performance and a solid partnership between Corey Fogarty and Ben Panayotopoulos on day 1 making the victory a formality. This win secures 3s spot in the top 6.

4s were outplayed after being bowled out for 134, despite veteran Rodney the Bodney coming through with yet another highlight in scoring 54. Despite the loss, 4s are still sitting strong in 4th position. In 5s and despite the heroic 9th wicket partnership between Tom Wark and Joseph Sartor last week Penrith still managed to chase down the 244 on a very flat Rance Oval. Zain Khan toiling away with his left arm thunderbolts taking 4/57, which unfortunately went in vain.

5th grade are currently sitting 5th on the David Sherwood Cup ladder. And finally, our T20 side enjoyed a first-up win to open the competition, Tom Engelbrecht the standout with 3/8 from his 4 overs and Nick Stapleton doing the business with the bat scoring 52 and seeing the Saints to a comfortable victory.

ROUND 5 WRAP

A fairly successful weekend for the club, headlined by 1st grade’s 7 wicket triumph over a very strong Eastern Suburbs Cricket Club side. Luke Bartier the star with 106 and Nick Stapleton again coming through against the white ball with 84 of his own.

2s and 3s suffered convincing losses, however, there was a bright spot with Blake Nikitaras playing a seriously impressive innings of 86 in a total of 159 in 2s.

4th Grade continued their impressive form with last years Greenies Billy Konstas and Connor O'Riordan the stars, BK with 71 and Connor taking 3fa to lead 4s to a tight win. Club captain, Andrew Pandelis, put on a show with a vintage Panda knock of 41 off 29 balls.

5s made it 4 wins from 5 games with a dominating win, headlined by Jarrod Brown and Evasio Macmillan who blew Easts away with 4 wicket hauls each.

Lastly, it was an unfortunate result in PGs as Bankstown District Cricket Club proved too good on the day, wrapping up a 3 wicket win despite a Josh Moors 3/32. We go around again and look forward to Round 6 against Blacktown.
