To all Life Members and Members,
Re:AGM and BBQ
As a result of the current concerns around Covid 19 we have reluctantly made a number of changes regarding this Saturday’s Annual General Meeting and proposed BBQ. These decisions have been made in the interests of everyone’s health and ensuring we abide with the Public Health Orders and restrictions related to sporting bodies and training.
The AGM will go ahead at 11.00am with restricted numbers (Committee, small number of players to fulfil the quorum) and an extremely tight agenda. Recipients of Perpetual Awards will be presented and photographed; there will be no speeches. Winners of trophies normally presented at the Players’ Night (batting and bowling awards) will also be photographed.
I anticipate that the AGM will be concluded in 10 minutes with the photos also completed quickly. The BBQ will not take place as there are onerous restrictions involved.
While this is disappointing, we need to be aware of the times and the circumstances and operate accordingly. Fortunately, there are no elections (only one nomination per position) and no proposed rule changes. If you have any questions that you would have raised at the AGM please feel welcome to ring me.
I’m pleased to say, even with the current restrictions, our players have commenced training in the belief that 1st and 2nd grade will commence on 26 September, with 3s, 4s and 5s on 31 October. You’ll receive updates as further information is provided.
